The Age of your Children

Generally, children under the age of six must not sleep on the top bunk. This is because they tend to wake up more at night. Climbing up and down a ladder is a skill they need to learn and some kids cannot do this easily. Thus, consider if your child is old enough to sleep on a bunk bed.

Visit various stores to see the features you like. Wood bunk beds tend to cost more than metal beds. Extra features such as a built-in desk or bookshelf are cool; however, they will make the bed more expensive. They may not be the best option if you are looking for cheap bunk beds for sale. Remember that you may also have to buy two mattresses. Usually, memory foam mattresses are not included in your bed bunk purchase.

How Long the Bed Bunk Will Be Used

Do you see your children sharing a room for many years or is it just temporary? If the bunk bed will be used for a while, ensure your kids will not outgrow it quickly.
